 50/50 Draw Congratulations to our April 50-50 monthly draw winner, Fionn Ui Mhaolcholann who scooped 440€ on Friday evening last, well done.  Garda vetting: Castleblayney Hurling Club is committed to the welfare and protection of all our members. As part of this commitment the club requires all coaches, training assistants and volunteers who are associated with our underage teams to comply with the legal requirement to have Garda vetting. Summer camp Exciting news for all our young hurlers out there with the details of the Hurling summer camp being announced, starting Monday 10th July to Wednesday 12th July, 9.30 – 12.30pm. Details are as follows: Registered 1 child €35, siblings €25, unregistered child €50, siblings €40. Volunteers the club is actively encouraging anybody who might be interested in helping out with our underage teams. Please contact Coaching Officer, David Connolly on 086 2517407 for further details.

Referees we are actively encouraging people who have played the game to consider taking up the referee mantle. Without referees our games cannot go ahead, it is a way of giving back to the game and indeed in staying involved with the GAA family. If you would consider taking up the challenge, contact any committee member who will ensure that you are trained and supported all the way. Give it a go!

Juvenile Presentation takes place on Mon 8th May in Iontas when all outstanding medals will be presented. This will be the club’s first Juvenile Presentation since pre Covid and the following 9 teams will receive their medals on the night from our Special Guest and County Captain, Niall Garland:

U7’s & U9’s continue training Wednesday 6-7pm in Castleblayney College gym.

Any child born 2016 and 2017 looking to join our U7s can contact David 0862517407 for further details. U9’s coach is Paul 086 1964932.

U11’s train Monday nights in Concra from 7pm – 8pm. Child to bring own hurl, helmet and water bottle.

U-13 training on Wednesday evening 6pm to 7pm at Juvenile pitch, St. Mary’s

U15’s train Wednesday evenings 6pm Concra pitch.

Condolences are extended to the McKenna Family, Drumillard on the death of Paddy, a good corner back in his day and father to Paudge & Tommy who also lined out for the club. Sympathy is also extended to the wife and family of Peadar Duffy, Muckno Street on his passing. Peadar RIP was a great servant to the club and father of Omar who played Juvenile hurling. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha.
