50/50 Draw The April draw will take place on the last Friday of the month as per usual. Garda vetting: Castleblayney Hurling Club is committed to the welfare and protection of all our members. As part of this commitment the club requires all coaches, training assistants and volunteers who are associated with our underage teams to comply with the legal requirement to have Garda vetting. Results Well done to the U-17’s who beat Clontibret on a scoreline of 2-07 to 1-04 on Mon evening. Good start lads!

Summer camp Exciting news for all our young hurlers out there with the details of the Hurling summer camp being announced, starting Monday 10th July to Wednesday 12th July, 9.30 – 12.30pm. Details are as follows: Registered 1 child €35, siblings €25, unregistered child €50, siblings €40. Referees we are actively encouraging people who have played the game to consider taking up the referee mantle. Without referees our games cannot go ahead, it is a way of giving back to the game and indeed in staying involved with the GAA family. If you would consider taking up the challenge, contact any committee member who will ensure that you are trained and supported all the way. Give it a go!
Juvenile Presentation takes place on Mon 24th April in Iontas when all outstanding medals will be presented. This will be the club’s first Juvenile Presentation since pre Covid and the following 8 teams will receive their medals on the night from our Special Guest and County Captain, Niall Garland:

U7’s & U9’s continue training Wednesday 6-7pm in Castleblayney College gym.
Any child born 2016 and 2017 looking to join our U7s can contact David 0862517407 for further details. U9’s coach is Paul 086 1964932.
U11’s are on a break for Easter this week and will resume training on Monday night in Concra from 7pm – 8pm. Child to bring own hurl, helmet and water bottle.
U-13 training on Wednesday evening 6pm to 7pm at Juvenile pitch, St. Mary’s
U15’s training Wednesday 6pm in Concra pitch. The boys had their first outing of the season away to Inniskeen in the Táin óg league last week. On the night we proved too strong for a very determined Inniskeen team to get off to a winning start. Our next outing in this competition is a home game against St Fechins from Louth on Wednesday 19th April.
U-17’s well done to the lads who recorded a win in U-17 League against St Macartans on Mon evening.
Monaghan Féile will take place this Saturday in Cloghan to decide which team goes on to represent the county in the National and Regional Finals in the coming months. The club get a bye in Round 1, and play Truagh and Latton in subsequent rounds with the first round due to start at 11am. Best of luck to all teams participating.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Peter Coyle, Lisnalong, Monaghan who was interred recently, Peter is grandfather of Senan & Luke McGrath, members of our U7/U9 squad. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
