All Ireland Q/F Ruislip 3rd Dec 2023
On Saturday 2nd December our Senior team, management & backroom team travelled from Belfast & Dublin to fulfil the fixture v Sean Treacy’s London in the All Ireland Q/F Junior Club Hurling. Followed by a large contingent of family & friends flying to airports all round London, McGovern Park, Ruislip was the venue for Sunday, with throw in at 1pm.
Half time saw our side down by 4 points and as the 2nd half unfolded, we looked dead and buried!!! With two minutes of stoppage time left & down by 6 points, Leo Moloney’s free dropped into the net, followed quickly by another goal by Thomas Hughes & we were back in business! Extra time to follow. In that extra time Blayney scored 2-08 with Sean Treacy’s registering 2 points. The heart, spirit, courage & skill of this team saw them dig deep and left the travelling contingent in awe of what they had achieved. Congratulations to all concerned, a sweet victory, not for the faint-hearted though!!!
