Castleblayney Hurling Club Notes 3rd June 2024
Congrats to our May 50/50 winner, Joanne Burke who collected a pot of €585 last week, well done Joanne. The draw takes place on the last Friday of the month. To get yourself organised for the draw, you can get your entry on the Clubforce link https://member.clubforce.com/memberships_cart_m.asp?LL_ID=2767&intMF_ID=7833#Anchor. This provides you with different payment options including setting up a 12 month direct debit subscription paid on a monthly basis which will ensure you are in for every draw. Alternatively, you can get an entry through REVOLUT to @bbol123 putting your name and contact telephone number in the note. Your support is very much appreciated.
Summer Camp takes place on Monday 8th to Wednesday 10th July, 10am -12.30pm each day in St Mary’s Park. The rates are as follows: club members, child 1 €35, Child 2 €30, Child 3 €25; non club members Child 1 €50, Child 2 €40. The camp is suitable for boys & girls aged 5-13 years old.
Registration forms are available at training or alternatively, you can download & print from the club website. The registration form and money need to be returned to your coach at training in an envelope with the child’s name displayed. For jersey delivery to be guaranteed, registration will CLOSE on Friday 24th May. Please note if you register after 24th May, we cannot guarantee delivery of a jersey. U16’s Mondays are Táin Óg Matches, training on Wednesdays 7-8pm Juvenile Pitch, St Mary’s.

Commiserations to the County Minors & their management in the Celtic Challenge Final which saw Louth win out. Our club representatives Caimin O’Brien, Tim McArdle, Tom Duffy, Eoghan Dignam, Ryan Callan, Cathal Malone, Eoghan McGroder & Nathan Smyth all contributed immensely to Monaghan’s efforts.
Activity Day in Croke Park 3rd June was a memorable day for four of our U12’s, Zac Mason, Shea Kelly, Aodhán McKenna & Gerry Connor who represented our club today. The lads had a brilliant day, playing four games on the hallowed turf of Croke Park. Such excitement & surely not the last time these young stars will grace this pitch! Well done lads.
Congratulations to our club representative in Oz, James Lavelle who got down on one knee at the weekend! Delighted for yourself & Clodagh, many happy days to you both.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Brendan Mason, Beech Drive, Drumillard who passed away at the weekend. Brendan is father of former hurler,David Mason & grandfather of juvenile player, Zac, ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
