U-15 League champions Our u15 hurlers had a comprehensive win over Carrick on a score line of 3-12 to 0-4 at Monaghan GAAs Centre of Excellence on Thursday evening. Played in testing weather conditions with the wind at our backs in the first half, we went into the break with a 5 point lead. Despite the rain and wind the boys stuck to their task and built on their lead. Relentless with pressure on the Carrick puck outs  and determined to win every ball, an early goal in the second half calmed any nerves of gap closing. The boys work rate was immense and they pushed on to a well deserved win against our biggest local rivals. Next up is the championship in a few weeks where no doubt we will cross paths again! A big well done to the players who have shown great commitment & determination in training and matches, thanks also to our coaches, Ger O’Brien, Wayne Funcheon & Paul Hughes for all their hard work and also the parents for their unswerving support. Thanks also to Glenn Murphy Photography for his brilliant pictures. Teamwork makes the dream work!

Irish News Ulster GAA All Stars Just a reminder that Niall Garland, Senior Player & Captain of the victorious Lory Meagher Team has been nominated for this award. Voting closes this Thursday so show your support by visiting www.irishnews.com/allstars and make sure to cast your votes by midnight on Thursday 10 August 2023. While there, also give your vote to the other Monaghan hurlers, Niall Arthur & Kevin Crawley who have also been nominated.

Membership is now overdue and this is a reminder to all players that they must be registered prior to playing or training in order to be covered for the Player Injury fund. Link for membership is

Referees we are actively encouraging people who have played the game to consider taking up the referee mantle. Without referees our games cannot go ahead, it is a way of giving back to the game and indeed in staying involved with the GAA family. If you would consider taking up the challenge, contact any committee member who will ensure that you are trained and supported all the way. Give it a go!

Wedding Bells Congratulations to former club secretary, Paraic Rafter and his beautiful bride, Orla who were married last week. Long life & happiness to you both & your family.

FOCUS – a Journey through the Lens is a photographic exhibition, by Glenn Murphy running in Iontas until the end of August. We, like many other clubs & organisations in the area, fully appreciate and enjoy the wonderful moments in time captured by Glenn in matches and at events, not to mention the stunning works from nature. A feast for the eyes, so make sure to go along to Iontas….an event not to be missed. Congratulations again, Glenn!

Clothing Collection the club are organising a clothing collection for Saturday 7th October. More details to follow closer to the time but keep this in mind when you are doing your summer clearout!
