Referees we are actively encouraging people who have played the game to consider taking up the referee mantle. Without referees our games cannot go ahead, it is a way of giving back to the game and indeed in staying involved with the GAA family. If you would consider taking up the challenge, contact any committee member who will ensure that you are trained and supported all the way. Give it a go!
Féile which took place in Truagh last Saturday 24th June proved to be a very worthwhile and enjoyable experience for our U-15’s. Thanks to the generous contribution from James Duffy of the Horseman’s and being kitted out in Declan Loughmans, the lads were up for a great day’s hurling and showed true grit and determination in their games. Winning two of their 3 games, the lads progressed to the Cup Final where they met St Patrick’s of Down. On a score line of St Patrick’s 1.07, Blayney 1.05 the lads bowed out despite fighting to the very end. The club would like to thank coaches Ger, Paul & Wayne for all their efforts and time, to the parents who supported the coaches and lastly the boys themselves who gave of their all, in determination and effort, excellent ambassadors for the club, their families and indeed the game of hurling. A sincere thank you to the sponsors and to anyone who helped in anyway. GRMA
7’s Competition Derrynoose was held on Sunday 25th and gave our U-13’s an opportunity to test themselves against teams in their group, from Keady, Lisbellaw and Cootehill. Topping their group the lads progressed to the semi-final where they met Dungannon who proved too strong for them on the day. Well done to the lads and thanks to coaches, Benny, Mark & Jarlath and parents who helped out on the morning.
