Breakfast Morning 28th May 2023

Castleblayney Hurling Club Breakfast Morning 28th May 2023

A beautiful morning saw Iontas bathed in glorious sunshine with the Green & Gold of the Blayney Hurlers setting the scene for our annual breakfast morning. The pans and pots were all good to go with the Senior Hurlers, their managers & committee members on hand to tend to our every need! And boy did they do a good job! The bacon was crisp, the sausages sizzling, the eggs as you like it, the toast melting the butter, all topped off with your choice of tea and coffee, a breakfast fit for a king, thanks to the wonderful staff of Iontas.

The early birds came, they were heading to Abbottstown to support the Monaghan U17  team playing in the Celtic Challenge All Ireland final, especially our club representatives, Tim McArdle, David Lambe, Brion Sherry, Ben McDonnell, Eoin Dignam & Ryan Callan. Others were on their way to the U11 match in Monaghan and some even called in on the way back!

So a huge thank you to all our loyal supporters who were the bums on seats and spent their money! Thanks also to the Senior players as mentioned already, a special word to James Holden who kept order at the kitchen sink and kept those Senior lads on their toes! To the organising committee and other committee members and to the staff of Iontas, a big thank you.

We must make special mention of the following sponsors, without whom the breakfast morning couldn’t happen:

Our main club sponsor McMahon’s Supervalu & Centra

Crafty Owl Productions

Keith Shortt Butchers

Gerry Quinn Butchers

Eamon Byrne Butchers

Gerry’s Fruit & Veg

Joe Bishop Milk

Donal Comiskey Milk

We hope you all enjoyed the morning, we enjoyed having you and we sincerely appreciate the support, all proceeds go to the Juvenile Hurling Club. Congratulations to Niamh Quinn who was the winner of the 50/50 draw bagging €570 for a ‘particular’ fund and also to John McGeough who was the winner of the free summer camp place. Happy days!
