The U-15 team met Killeavy last week, emerging with a one point victory. Some excellent hurling on display and great to get this level of competitive hurling for the players. Most of the U-17 team participated in the u17Celtic Challenge on Saturday against Longford. Leading for a significant part of the game, the boys were unlucky to lose by a goal and a point. Captained by our own Thomas Hughes, the team had 12 Club players on the field and several on the bench, showing the depth of skill and commitment club mentors are facilitating for this integral age group. Their second match is on Wednesday.
Monaghan Hurlers meet Longford at home next Saturday 10th July in Inniskeen at 2pm in the Lory Meagher.
‘Catch up with..’ series saw us chat to the main man himself, club chairman Jimmy Lacey. A big thank you to all the players past and present who have taken the time to participate.
Sympathy is extended to Senior players, Cathal & Aidan Kerr and their family on the death of their Grandfather, Sean Reilly who was buried last Saturday. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
