The Young Castleblayney U15 Hurlers had a fantastic win over Clontibret tonight in Concra. This was not a game for the faint-hearted as the ref seemed to let a lot go, which resulted in a very tense, hard hitting battle. Blayney led at half time by 6 points after some fantastic hurling by Alfie Hughes, Harry McQuillan, Timmy McArdle and Senan Hanratty. In the second half the Blayney lads had to dig deep as the Clontibret boys threw everything at them. The Blayney defence did a great job at the back, however Clontibret were in control and got the margin down to 2. With time running out Clontibret were unable to get another goal to clinch victory, and Blayney tapped over the final point of the game to win by 3 on a score line of 3-11 to 3-08. Well done to  Ger and all the boys for a very spirited performance. Report & Images by Glenn Murphy. More Action shots in the Gallery
